Katie Parr acted for a 29 year old woman, who received £4,000 following an inappropriate extraction. The woman attended her practice, complaining of swelling and severe pain in her lower left quadrant and was on Warfarin and taking antibiotics at the time.
The Defendant dentist failed to obtain an up to date reading of her international normalisation ratio (INR) or take into the account the antibiotics she was taking. Her dentist extracted her lower left molar and the woman suffered from post operative bleeding and required a 3 night stay in hospital as a result. The woman was now temporarily anaemic as a result of the blood loss.
