Sophie Angwin acted for a 40 year old woman, who received £4,000 following the placement of an inappropriate and substandard bridge. Our client initially sought advice from the Defendant dentist about the options for replacing a tooth, after it had been extracted a number of years earlier.
The Defendant dentist recommended and fitted a mesial cantilever bridge, using the adjacent tooth as a support. After the bridge was fitted, our client complained of a poor fit and colour, together with food getting stuck around the bridge. The bridge was subsequently removed.
The Defendant dentist fitted a type of bridge that was inappropriate and of a substandard quality. The client suffered pain and suffering whilst the bridge was fitted and will require a definitive replacement of the tooth, together with a crown fitted on the adjacent tooth.
