Katie Parr acted for a man who attended the dentist seeking long term treatment to improve his dental cosmetic appearance.
The Claimant was offered an implant which was subsequently fitted. Unfortunately the implant was not fitted adequately and the Claimant was advised that the implant would need to be removed and a bridge installed from LL5 to LL7 on top of the implant. A bridge was subsequently fitted.
The bridge was also placed inadequately and the Claimant developed a severe infection and required root canal treatment. The temporary bridge was replaced and further treatment was then required including the removal of the implant, bone grafting and the placement of a further implant and thereafter placement of an abutment and a crown. Repairs to two further teeth were also required.
The Claim was settled out of Court and the Claimant was awarded £17,000.
