Ali Cloak, a Solicitor in the Dental Negligence Team, acted for a 63 year old man, who received £15,000 following the loss of his UL2 and UL3. Our client attended the defendant dentist between 2007 and 2012 and complained that his bridge was loose. His upper anterior bridge was fitted in 1988 to replace his UR1 and UL1 teeth, and the Defendant dentist used the client’s UR3, UR2, UL2 and UL3 as abutment teeth.
The Defendant dentist failed to properly investigate and diagnose the problems affecting the UL2 and UL3 teeth and failed to take an X-ray of the UL3, when our client complained that it felt loose. A radiograph was not taken until 2 years later, despite the client’s complaints. Our client was eventually told by a different dentist that his UL3 and UL2 were unrestorable as a result of the delays and required extraction. It is now planned that our client shall have restorative impacts fitted and the damages he received will fund this treatment.
